The Unique Equine Life Number is unique to an equine. The number is typically 15 digits long but can be longer. For equines born in the Canada the UELN starts with 124.

Where can I find this number?

The UELN (sometimes called just "Life Number") is typically found on the front or first page in an equine’s passport, breed registry certificate, or bill of sale if you have one. It may also be recorded on the page where the identification details of the equine are recorded.

If the UELN is 15 digits long but doesn't start with 124, it's likely the equine was originally registered outside of the Canada i.e. if it starts with 826 the UELN will have been registered in UK.

If your equine's passport does not state a UELN, but states a Passport ID number or even both, you should add this to your equine’s record in the Digital Stable.
