Equine marked as "Not for Sale"

Searching the National Equine ChipChecker has returned a microchip which has a "Not for Sale" status marked against it. What should I do?

If you have searched for a microchip on the National ChipChecker and see a status which is marked as "Not for Sale" it means that the current owner using the Digital Stable has indicated that this equine should not be for sale or not sold for any reason.

Information for buyers

It is best to confirm with the owner of equine that it is indeed for sale, as the ownership of the equine cannot be transferred in the system if it is marked Not for Sale until the owner amends this status.
